Surely, many of us periodically struggle with an irresistible desire to eat a piece of delicious holiday cake and a huge fear for our figure. Especially, of course, this applies to the fair sex, who constantly or periodically exhaust themselves with painful diets in pursuit of an ideal body. But, not only young ladies who are always losing weight are terrified of confectionery. There is a category of people for whom sweets are contraindicated for various medical reasons. In particular, we are talking about patients with obesity and diabetes. For such people, confectionery becomes dangerous not only for the figure, but for health and even life. How to be in such a situation? Do you really now have to give up the pleasure of eating cakes and pastries for the rest of your life? Of course not! Modern cooking, namely the masters of confectionery, offer us a lot of recipes for making low-calorie desserts that you can sometimes afford without harm to your figure and health.

One of the most popular dietary desserts is considered to be fruit cake. The basis of this cake is a variety of fruits and berries. Most often, this fruity variety is complemented by a light cream. Such a cream is usually prepared from cottage cheese, yogurt or sour cream with a low percentage of fat. In order for the cream to solidify properly, and the cake itself to keep its shape, gelatin is used. Sometimes some kind of fruit jelly is prepared separately, which serves as an original layer or cake decoration. Besides the fact that this fruit cake is safe for female forms, it is also very easy to prepare. After all, you do not have to knead the dough, bake cakes and spend time preparing chocolate icing. All that is required of you is to peel and cut the fruit, prepare the cream, assemble the cake and give it a little time to set. A fruit cake does not even need any special decoration, especially if you use colorful fruits in its preparation. Then the cake itself turns out to be colorful and elegant.
Of course, there are more complex recipes for making fruit cakes. But, they will no longer be dietary, although they will clearly win in this regard compared to traditional cakes. Let's just say that ladies who follow a not very strict diet can afford more complex fruit cakes. Most often, the basis for such a cake is a biscuit. Fruit here will not be the main component, but an additional layer or ingredient in the cream. A biscuit-based fruit cake is usually layered with butter or sour cream, sometimes jams, marmalade or ordinary jam are used for this purpose. Also, very often fruits here will be accompanied by nuts, raisins, marshmallows, marmalade, pieces of chocolate or candied fruits. To make the cake even more elegant, it is decorated with chocolate icing, poppy seeds or coconut flakes. In a word, if you do not particularly restrict yourself in nutrition, then you can afford any experiments with fruit cakes.
